John Nichols - Managing Director
John is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, sales and marketing activities. He brings more than 25 years of manufacturing automation and optimization experience to APEX clients, having served in top executive positions at Wonderware Corporation (now a unit of Invensys Process Systems); Incuity Software (now a unit of Rockwell Automation), a pioneer in business intelligence software for manufacturing companies; and automation software distributor ISS-Wonderware. John earned his BA degree at the University of Washington.
Marya Woods - Co-founder, Operations Director - Senior Systems Engineer
Marya is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and management of large projects for key customers. She is certified in industry-leading software products for manufacturing and is proficient in the programming and implementation of most widely-used controls hardware and software. She earned her BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Idaho.
Lonnie Purvis - Co-founder, Engineering Director - Senior Systems Engineer
Lonnie oversees all engineering activities at APEX and is a champion for standards-based manufacturing solutions. He has great expertise in the practical applications of ISA-95 manufacturing and S-88 batch standards. He has practical experience as a control engineer for several leading end user companies as well as a systems integrator. He holds an avionics degree and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Erik Phillips - Senior Project Manager
Erik is responsible for identifying client manufacturing improvement opportunities, presenting APEX solutions, and ensuring that the resulting services more than exceed the customer's expectations. Erik is experienced in project management as well as the practical application of automation control hardware, software, systems, and continuous improvement practices. Prior to joining APEX, Erik served in key engineering and management positions at a leading mineral refining company, a global food producer, and a leading gold mining company. Erik has a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Applied Technology from Boise State University.
